Last orchestra concert of the semester finished, Just one more exam to survive, and my Harp is back at my parent's place with me for the first time since summer!  Fantastic to be home.  Of course, being home for a little longer than usual means that I actually have time to do a little bit of painting, which is fun, except that the more painting I do the more I realize maybe I should stick to pencils..or bite the bullet and shell out the money for an art teacher. Everyone has their way of de-stressing during exam season, and mine is generally to spend an inordinate amount of time sketching instead of studying. I think it's because it's a way to procrastinate but not feel QUITE so guilty about it, because I actually have something to show for it at the end. :P  So, I just bought myself some toned sketch paper and some charcoal pencils, and I have to say, If anyone hasn't tried toned paper, I recommend it. It offers some really cool ways to shade portraits without having to shade absolutely every milometer of the drawing, and since you can actually use white pencil since the paper is toned, you can real
